Creating Folders

About Folders

The Integration-Services workbench comprises Folders. Folders in Composer are similar to standard Windows folders or directories. Folders provide separate, distinct workplaces for storing and defining objects. The existence of independent Folders enables users to group objects together, for example, all the objects related to a single project, or all the objects defined by one user.

Procedure

Before you define a new Folder, you must have access to the Administration workbench and user rights to perform operations on folders.

To create a new Folder:

  1. In the Administration workbench select File > New > Administration > Folder.
  2. If you want to create a child folder, select the parent folder in the navigation pane first.
  3. Complete the General tab.
  4. Name: Enter a unique, logical name for the Folder. You can enter up to 32 alphanumeric characters.
