About the Integration-Task

An Integration-Task contains the technical information that is necessary to execute a specific Integration-Process on a specific Integrator Server instance. For this example we use the Integration-Task object to specify the Channels that are associated with the Send and Receive Activities of the Integration-Process.

Procedure

  1. Open Composer and in the Integration Manager tab of the Integration Services workbench select New > Integration > Integration-Task from the File menu.
  2. Composer displays the Integration-Task properties window.
  3. Complete the General tab.

    Contents

    Name

    Enter a name for the Integration-Task. For example: it_exchange_w_messaging

    Label

    Optionally, enter a free-text description of the Integration-Task to display in mouse-over pop-ups in Composer;

    Status

    This field displays the current status of the Integration-Task, set to ToBeChecked by default. You cannot directly change the status in this field.

    Integration-Process

    From the drop-down list, select the Integration-Process object that corresponds to the processing specified in this Integration-Task. For this example we select ip_exchange_w_messaging

    Axway Server

    From the drop-down list, select the Integrator Server instance where the processing specified in this Integration-Task will be applied.

    Sentinel

    From the drop-down list, select the level of Sentinel monitoring that you want to use.
  4. Complete the Configuration tab.
    5. ClosedView procedure
    1. In the left pane (directory pane) of the Configuration tab, click to select the ftp_receive Activity.
    2. In the right pane, Composer displays a set of configuration fields that enable you to specify the characteristics of this Activity.
    3. In the Available Channels list, select the receive_from_ftp Channel, and click OK.
    4. Composer adds the receive_from_ftp Channel to the Selected Channels list for this Activity.
    5. In the left pane click to select the jms_receive Activity.
    6. In the Available Channels list, select the receive_from_messaging Channel, and click OK.
    7. Composer adds the receive_from_messaging Channel to the Selected Channels list for this Activity.
    8. In the left pane click to select the jms_send Activity.
    9. In the Available Channels list, select send_to_messaging, and click OK.
    10. Composer adds the send_to_messaging Channel to the Selected Channels list for this Activity.
    11. In the left pane click to select the ftp_send Activity.
    12. In the Available Channels list, select send_to_ftp, and click OK.
    13. Composer adds the send_to_ftp Channel to the Selected Channels list for this Activity.
  5. Check, save and close the object.

After you create the Integration-Task

Send the Integration-task to the Integrator Server.
