Importing an entity and certificate

About this procedure

Every certificate in PassPort must be associated with exactly one certificate entity. Before you can import certificates or keys, you must create an entity.

Procedure

1. In the PassPort user interface, select Partners > Manage partners.
2. PassPort opens the partner management screen.
2. Click the partner that represents the remote partner (Partner_remote) to open the summary screen for that partner.
3. Select the Security tab.
4. In the Available certificates section click Import.
5. PassPort opens the Import certificate wizard.
5. Enter a name for the imported certificate and then use the Browse... tool to locate and select your trading partner's certificate, (the one the remote server will use to secure the connection).
6. Remember that a certificate needs to have the complete chain imported (not necessarily in the same entity) and be available, in order to work in PassPort.
6. Click OK.
