Importing the Gateway PM package to PassPort

Overview

In PassPort terminology, a package is an XML file that describes a set of objects that can be imported into PassPort. A package is specific to a product. For example, the Gateway package for PassPort is only useful for Gateway exchanges.

Using an imported package

When you import the Gateway partner management package to PassPort, you generate definitions of the Gateway communication protocols in PassPort.

After you import a Gateway package for PassPort, working in PassPort, you can use these definitions to define exchanges between pairs of exchange partners using the various protocols.

Importing the package

  1. On the machine where you installed Gateway, go to the directory that contains the package:
  2. <Gateway install directory>\extras\Passport\GTWPackage.xml
  3. Copy the package file.
  4. On the machine that supports PassPort, paste this file into the directory:
  5. <PassPort install directory>\conf\packages
  6. Connect to the PassPort user interface with administration rights for package installation and for object configuration.
  7. In the PassPort user interface, select Configuration > Packages to open the installation window.
  8. In this window, installable packages are identified with the Not installed icon. If no such package is listed, click the Refresh icon.
  9. Select GTWPackage.xml from the list and then click Install.
  10. PassPort installs the package.
  11. When installation is complete, the package status changes to Active indicated by a green disk icon. This indicates that the package objects are available in the PassPort interface.

Managing and using an imported package

After installing a package you can:
