SWIFTNet Cash Management

Overview

User profile

Cash Management is a service provided by SWIFT, based on a set of XML messages. It enables users to retrieve information concerning the cash Management. This service can be used by corporates or banks to obtain information from and execute actions with a bank holding their accounts.

Provided services

Axway Financial Exchange provides the following types of messages for Cash Management:

Information messages: Query and response messages, where the member sends a request for information about balances, transactions, limits and business data (membership, day profiles, exchange rates, ...) and the service provider returns a reply.

Action messages: Sent by a member to request modifications or cancellations of transactions held at the account servicing institution, alter some characteristics of a transaction (for example, priority) and upload business data (limits, user profiles, ...).

Warnings and administration messages: Used by the service provider to broadcast information to users, based on regular events (cut-off events, profiles of operational day), as well as on an ad-hoc basis (warning messages, temporary suspension of service, ...).

Processing

On the customer side: Receiving requests from back-end applications, translating these requests into the corresponding XML messages, sending these messages via InterAct to the destination bank, acquiring the and routing messages to back-end applications.

On the bank holding the account side: Receiving request XML messages via InterAct, transmitting these requests to back-end applications, acquiring the responses from back-end applications and transmitting responses via InterAct as Response payload (pull mode) or as request payload (push mode) to the issuer of a Get request (pull mode) or as request payload (push mode) to the issuer of a Get request.
