User profile

Proxy voting is the process by which shareholders indicate their voting intentions remotely on resolutions discussed at company meetings, without needing to attend personally.

The SWIFTNet Proxy Voting solution provides the standard framework that SWIFT customers need to support straight-through processing of the proxy voting process.

Provided services

Axway Financial Exchange enables you to exchange dedicated XML messages between the Proxy voting actors. The messages include announcement of the meeting, participation registration, proxy registration, vote and report of the vote results. These messages cover the flow of exchanges between the issuer and its agent with the parties holding the right to vote through a certain number of intermediaries.

Processing

Messages are generated by proprietary back-end applications or by the SWIFTNet Portal. If in proprietary format, Integrator transforms the messages into XML messages. The messages created via SWIFTNet Portal are validated and transmitted to Integrator. Integrator then sends the messages over SWIFTNet using the InterAct protocol, via Axway Gateway and SAG (SWIFTAlliance Gateway, SWIFTNet interface).Files received from SWIFTNet partner by Gateway are routed to a target application.
Incoming messages are acquired by Gateway (via InterAct) and then transmitted by Integrator to the application. They can be sent to SWIFTNet Portal in order to get an interactive validation before being sent to the application.
