View MMS Messages using Outlook Express

Summary:

MMS stores messages in RFC-822 (MIME) format. This format is plain ASCII text with binary attachments encoded to ASCII also. Outlook Express has the ability to parse out the MIME parts and display the message as it is meant to be displayed.

Details:

View RFC-822 MMS messages (.msg files) using Outlook Express: change the message extension from .msg to .eml.

- An easy way to do this is to open a Command prompt in the directory and rename *.msg to *.eml.

- Now double-click on the message and Outlook Express opens it up and parses it, etc.
- You can also drag and drop the *.eml into Outlook Express.

You can see all of the attachments also.
