Check for Updates shows the incorrect version

Summary:

Selecting "Check for Updates" correctly brings up a webpage displaying Installshield updates for MMS, but it shows the wrong version of MMS.

Detailed Information:

It is possible your last MMS installation failed to correctly update the INI file that tells the update service what version of MMS you are running.

Resolution:

Check the INI file:

c:\program files\Installshield Installation Information\UpdateService\Database\{131CB5B9-30B7-4AAA-8091-7CAB180E9C72}.ini

This file should contain a version line that correctly identifies the version of MMS you are running (check the Status screen in Web Admin if you are not sure of your version).

Example:
Version=5.5.1

If the version is MISSING from your INI file, edit the file to add it. If it is incorrect, edit the file to correct it. Close the "Check for Updates" window and reselect it from the program group for the appropriate product to retry.

Note that the Installshield Installation Information directory may be hidden on your system. Make sure Windows Explorer is set to show hidden files and folders (Tools menu/Folder Options/View tab).
