Determining the version of IME being run

Determining the version of IME being run
This article was previously published as ID#30143

Detailed Information:
To determine the version of IME 5.5 for Windows software being run, login into IME Admin and go to the Server/Configuration page. This page displays the version number of each component (binary executable) in the format 5.5.build, where 5.5.3006 (build 3006) is the version for the IME 5.5 base release, and 5.5.4001 (build 4001) is the version for IME 5.5 patch 1. Starting with IME 5.5 patch 2, the patch number will also be displayed as part of the version as follows: 5.5.patch.build.

It is also possible to get the version information directly from each executable file by right-clicking on the file and viewing the version tab.

As patches only include updated binaries, it is possible to have different versions of binaries running together.

To determine the version of IME 5.0/5.0.5 software for Windows being run, go the registry and under the \HKLM\Software\Tumbleweed\Server registry tree, there will be an entry created for any patch installed (e.g., "IME 5.05 Patch 1"). If no patches have been installed, no entry will exist.

To determine the version of IME software for Solaris being run, open the install.status file contained in the IME_ROOT/ directory. Any time an IME patch is installed on the box, the IME patch installer writes an entry to this file. Note that because IME hot fixes do not come with installers, no indication of a hot fix being installed will appear in the install.status file unless the system admin makes a manual entry when installing the hot fix (this is recommended).

Resolution:
3006 (patch 0), and 4001
