When running managedomain to register a host, you see the error 20001, 'getaddrinfo failed'

Problem

* When running managedomain's 'register host' option, you see an error like the following -

Is this the first host (Admin Node Manager) in the domain [y]: n
Enter details of the new host to be registered...
No hostname defined.


(20001, 'getaddrinfo failed')
Hit enter to continue...

 

Resolution

-- This error is usually caused by a lack of DNS service to the machine in question.  At this point, the script is trying to present you with a list of IPs and hostnames for localhost.  If DNS is not available for that machine, you may also be able to work around this by creating an entry for localhost in your hosts file with the machine's IP address.
