We have faced many questions in regards of the synchronous transfers already.

There not really a particular usage model that will fit everybody's needs and I will not list here all questions we had to answer in regards of the synchronous transfers usage.

The main things to be aware of is the fact that synchronous transfers are very sensitive to the monitor status* while asynchronous transfers are fully insensitive and because of that, it makes the best choice to retain when batch applications are concerned.

*scheduled or not scheduled interruption of service, maintenance, upgrade and so on
