Resolution

* check the size of the Service Pack :

> ls -l <patch file name>

* if the size is 1073741312 bytes, you are probably facing this AIX specific transfer issue : https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/specific-volume-move-always-fails-specific-byte-size-1073741312-bytes
