We trying to use the new archiving feature in XIB2.1.1 and we are getting some trouble in using it.
We trying to use the new archiving feature in XIB2.1.1 and I'm getting some trouble using it. First of all, we have already made an Archive called "ARCH1"
Furthermore, we have 2 archive instances, called "03-03-2007" and "22-02-2007". These two instances are selected for the Archive ARCH1.
After two weeks, our XIB has archived again old logs, under the name "17-03-2007". We copied these to the msglog_archives directory and want to add it as an instance.
But instead, we get an error message, "Failed to add archive instance: the TCP port is already used by another instance", see picture 4.
The thing which we want to state is, after we delete the Archive "ARCH1" and both instances. Everything in archives windows is empty now- only then we can add the three instances and redefine the Archive again without problems.
1) Is it normal behavior that when adding an instance to an archive, everything should be deleted and then re-imported? If so, that's not very user-friendly.
2) Or should I use another procedure to add instances to an archive?
Resolution
Please try to install the patch "CORE_211_02-01-14", which is available in the support website. The Patch contains the latest version of "tool_msglog" module. Please also check the Read Me file before installing the patch.
After installing the patch the problem of adding the "Archive Instances" will be resolved.
