What are the usage / meaning of various options under Generate Acknowledgement for EDIFACT?

eneral Acknowledgement Rule

Radio Options

*Never - No ack will be generated at all, even though requested in outbound. (Requesting an acknowledgement is done from the received edi document, there is a in the UNB segment which specifies if an acknoledgemtn should be generated, in the description just replace outbound with edi interchange)

*On request - Ack will be generated only if there is a request from outbound. (same as above)

*Always - Ack will be generated always irrespective or requests from outbound or errors.

*If errors detected -Ack will be generated (only if there have been errors detected in the input edi interchange)

*On Request or if Errors - Ack will be generated if at least one of the conditions have been fullfiled.

Check Box

*Only Report Syntactical Errors - Basically if the checkbox is selected the Ackgenerator will only report syntactical errors in the input message (this is actually what the standard states that the CONTRL message should contain), and not errors which result from the processing of the input message.
