KB Article #64370

indexed file received under the WFNAME in place of the FNAME value (no rename ?) special FTYPE values

Problem

When receiving a VSAM KSDS file using a CFTRECV set with a WFNAME, the file is received under the WFNAME name (no rename to FNAME at the end of the transfer)

Resolution

CFT cannot rename a VSAM file (alter is not implemented and rename doesn''t support VSAM files)
So if adrdssu is not used (FTYPE=1 at CFTRECV and CFTSEND level)  and WFNAME specified in the CFTRECV, the final name will stay with the WFNAME name.
Messages from the log regarding the files transferred are always related to the FNAME value.

Receiving indexed files from any OS (i.e. OS/400) to MVS in a PS file is possible using the special FTYPE=A in the CFTRECV (CFT for z/OS only)

Details related to special FTYPE values for CFT on z/os are to be found in the product release notes
