-- What are the recommended values for the maximum number of client and server processes defined in Swiftnet remote site?
Resolution
-Number of processes represents a static number of connections that can be made to a Swift Alliance Gateway (SAG). the number of connections is defined in the license on the SAG.
-The number of connections to the SAG is defined in the license on the server. If the SAG is dedicated to the Remote Adapter and gateway, the maximum number of processes can be defined, based upon the number of licensed connections. In this case, number of connections in remote site can be increased which could help to improve performance.
-If the SAG is not dedicated to the RA and Gateway, all other applications accessing the SAG must be taken into account and will impact the choice made for the number of processes.
-Valud defined for maximum client and server process also based upon load coming in- and out of Gateway.
Summary
=======
The number of processes that can be defined are limited by the number of licensed connections to the SAG server. They are also defined by the number of connections coming into the partner site and Gateway. The number of processes will be defined by whether or not the RA and SAG is used exclusively with Gateway or not. If the SAG is shared then you will have to limit the number of processes based upon the number of connectiosn made to the SAG by other applications.
