Use the Creation Wizard to accelerate creation of the following objects:

The Creation Wizard is accessible to all users, independent of user rights.

Creating a new CommAdapter

To create a new CommAdapter on a Axway Server, use the Creation Wizard to apply a CommAdapter Template to a Axway Server or to a ServerList. If you apply the Template to a List, Composer creates a new CommAdapter on each Server included in the List.

To create a CommAdapter, open the Tools menu in the Topography workbench and select Creation Wizard.

Screen 1: Select Creation type

The first screen of the Wizarddisplays the options that you can select. In the Topography workbench, CommAdapter is the only available option.
Click Next to continue.

Screen 2: Select CommNetwork and CommAdapter Template

Screen 2 displays two drop-down lists of all available CommNetworks and CommAdapter Templates. (A CommAdapter is always specific to a given network type.)

Select a CommNetwork and aCommAdapter Template from the lists.
Click Next to continue.

Screen 3: Select Terminus type

Screen 3 enables you to specify whether you want to create the new CommAdapter on one or more individual Axway Servers, or one or more ServerLists. Select one of the following options:

Screen 4: Select Terminus object(s)

Screen 4 displays:

Use this screen to select the Axway Server object(s) where you want to create the CommAdapter.

Use the Add, Add all, Remove and Remove all buttons to move the objects from one column to the other.
Click Next to create a CommAdapter on each selected Server or ServerList.

Screen 5: Execution report

The last screen displays the execution report with a line for each new CommAdapter created.

Click Finish to close the Creation Wizard.

Creating a new Channel

To create a new Channel, you can use the Creation Wizard to apply a Channel Template to the software, or in Composer terminology the Terminus, at each end of the Channel. The Channel Terminus can be a Axway Server, an Application or a Partner.

Each of these objects has one or more CommAdapters. You can create a Channel between two CommPoints on condition that their CommAdapters are of the same type.

To create a Channel, open the Tools menu in the Integration-Services workbench and select Creation Wizard

Screen 1: Select Creation type

The first screen of the Wizarddisplays the options that you can select. Select Channel and click Next to continue.

Screen 2: Select Channel Template value for each Terminus (optional)

Screen 2 displays the available Channel Templates for Terminus 1 and Terminus 2. Optionally, use this screen to create the new Channel by applying a Channel Template to each Channel Terminus.

Select a Template for each field or, alternatively, select No Channel Template if you do not want to apply a Template to the Channel Terminus, or if no Template is defined.
Click Next to continue.

Screen 3: Select Terminus 1 parameters

Use this screen to specify the parameters for Terminus 1 (the software at one end of the Channel).

Complete the fields for Terminus 1 as follows.

From the drop-down list, select the Terminus 1 object type:

This field displays the names of all defined software objects of the type selected in the Object Type field. If you selected All, this field displays objects of all three types.

From the drop-down list, select the name of the software object type.

CommPoint

(Mandatory)

This field displays the list of all available CommPoints on the selected software object.

If this list is empty, check that the CommAdapter types of the Terminus objects are the same.

 

Click Next to continue.

Screen 4: Select Terminus 2 object(s)

Screen 4 displays two columns:

Composer creates a Channel from the specified Terminus 1 CommPoint to each Terminus 2 object that you select on this screen.  
Click Next to continue.

Screen 5: CommPoint connections

This screen displays two panes:

Use the Add, Add all, Remove and Remove all buttons to move the objects from one pane to the other.
Click Next to display the execution report.

Screen 6: Execution report

The execution report displays a line for each successfully created Channel.

Click Finish to close the Creation Wizard.
