EBICS Server UI: General operating instructions

Logging on to the user interface

When you call up the EBICS Server administration URL in a web browser, it opens a logon dialog screen. Enter your user name and password. This information is securely transferred to the EBICS Server and checked there.

Description of the user interface screen

The main screen of the EBICS Server user interface is divided into two areas. The left area displays a navigation menu that you use to switch between different object categories and functions of the application. The right area contains the content, according to the menu item selected on the left.

For object categories you select in the left area, the initial display includes a search template that enables you to search for data or enter a new data record. If appropriate, a search generates a table display of search hits. From this table, you access a detail dialog for displaying or editing the data.

Modifying object content

For information purposes, and to protect against accidental changes, all data is initially displayed in read-only format. To make changes, you must switch the interface to processing mode.

To change to processing mode, click Start change process in the left area of the screen.

In processing mode, all modifications are recorded to the EBICS Server. In the left area, the interface now displays two buttons:

Above these two buttons, the interface displays the number of changes you have made during this editing session.

Searching

The search template contains all the data required for the search. All search fields implicitly contain an AND link, so that adding fields of search criteria increasingly restricts search results. If the search does not return a result, the No data found message is displayed directly underneath the Search button.

Search results

Search results are displayed in the form of a table.

The returned search results can extend to several pages. Use the Hits per page selection box to control the number of displayed results. The default setting is 20 hits per page.

Beneath the table, the interface displays the number of hits and the currently displayed page.

Beneath this information, the interface displays a set of buttons for navigating the hit list, if appropriate for the number of results.

To sort the results table by different columns, click the header of any column of the table. When you click a column a second time, the display order is reversed. The current sorting order (ascending/descending) is indicated by an arrow pointing up or down next to the column.

In addition to information about the returned data, if you are in processing mode the table contains buttons for enabling the processing or viewing of a row. Up to three buttons appear here, depending on your user type.

Button Action
Edit Opens the detail dialog for processing
Display Opens the detail dialog for the display
Delete Deletes the object
Restore Reverses the deletion of the object. It can only be selected to undo the deletion when a displayed data record has been deleted.

Detail dialog

The detail screens display the values of specific objects. The detail screen is identical for processing and displaying data. Data displayed in read-only mode cannot be processed.

Each detail screen displays the following buttons, which are visible or hidden depending on the situation:

Button Action
Save Saves the changes that have been made. Visible only in processing mode.
Back Cancels the current action and returns to the search template. Always visible. In processing mode, changes are discarded.

New entry

The search template includes a button for creating a new data object. When you click the button, the detail dialog appears in processing mode, enabling you to enter attributes for the object.
