Creating a Channel for Sentinel monitoring of Transfer CFT

Overview

To link Transfer and Sentinel for exchange of messages, you create a Channel in Composer.

Prerequisites

Before you can create the Channel, you must create in Composer:

Procedure

  1. In the Composer Integration-Services workbench, Infrastruture tab /Hierarchy sub-tab, right-click the Application object that represents Transfer CFT and then select Channel from the context menu.
  2. Composer displays the Channel properties window.
  3. Complete the General tab:

    Field Contents
    Name Enter a name for the Channel. For example, SendToSentinel.
    Label Optionally enter a description.
    Status You cannot directly change the status in this field.
    Endpoints
    Terminus1 From the drop-down list, select Application. Then from the Instance field drop-down list, select the Application object that represents the Transfer CFT.
    Terminus2 From the drop-down list, select Axway Server. Then from the Instance field drop-down list, select the Axway Server object that represents the Sentinel Server.
    Connection parameters
    Connection type This field displays TCP / Sentinel QLT-XML
    Connection point 1 Select the Sentinel QLT- XML CommAdapter
    Connection point 2 Select the Sentinel QLT- XML CommAdapter
  4. In the ConnectionPoint 1 tab, in the Receiver or Sender field select the Sender transfer mode. Leave the default values for the other parameters.
  5. Check, save and close the object.
  6. Send the Channel object to production.
  7. Composer sets the object status to committed.
