Overview

To link Integrator and Messaging for the exchange of queued messages, you create two Channels in Composer:

• Send to Messaging: Enables Integrator to link and write messages to the Messaging queue via JMS
• Receive from Messaging: Enables Integrator to link and consume messages in the Messaging queue via JMS

Prerequisites

Before you can create the Channels, you must create:

• An Axway Server object to represent Integrator
• See Creating an Axway Server to represent Integrator.
• An Application object to represent Messaging
• See Creating an Application object to represent Messaging.
• A Messaging queue to hold messages for Integrator
• See Creating a Messaging queue.
• An Integrator JMS CommAdapter
• See Adding an Integrator JMS CommAdapter.

Creating a Channel for Integrator sending of messages to Messaging

1. In the Composer Integration-Services workbench, Infrastructure tab /Hierarchy sub-tab, right-click the Axway Server object that represents Integrator and then select New > Channel from the context menu.
2. Composer displays the Channel properties window.
2. Complete the General tab:

Field	Contents
Name	Enter a name for the Channel. For example, SendToMessaging
Label	Optionally enter a description.
Status	You cannot directly change the status in this field.
Endpoints
Terminus1	From the drop-down list, select Axway Server. Then from the Instance field drop-down list, select the Axway Server object that represents the Integrator Server.
Terminus2	From the drop-down list, select Application. Then from the Instance field drop-down list, select the Application object that represents Messaging.
Connection parameters
Connection type	Select TCP / Gateway
Connection point 1	Select the Integrator JMS CommAdapter
Connection point 2	Select the Messaging queue CommPoint name

3. In the Connection point 1 tab, select Sender in the Receiver or Sender field.
4. In the Connection point 2 tab, enter the JMS parameters, including the name of the queue you created in Messaging for exchanges with Integrator.
5. Check, save and close the object.

Creating a Channel for Integrator retrieval of messages from Messaging

1. In the Composer Integration-Services workbench, Infrastructure tab /Hierarchy sub-tab, right-click the Axway Server object that represents Integrator and then select Channel from the context menu.
2. Composer displays the Channel properties window.
3. Complete the General tab:

Name	Enter a name for the Channel. For example, RetrieveFromMessaging
Label	Optionally enter a description.
Status	You cannot directly change the status in this field.
Endpoints
Terminus1	From the drop-down list, select Axway Server. Then from the Instance field drop-down list, select the Axway Server object that represents the Integrator Server.
Terminus2	From the drop-down list, select Application. Then from the Instance field drop-down list, select the Application object that represents the Messaging.
Connection parameters
Connection type	Select TCP / Gateway
Connection point 1	Select the JMS CommAdapter
Connection point 2	Select the Messaging queue CommPoint name

4. In the Connection point 1 tab, select Receiver in the Receiver or Sender field. Accept the defaults for Transfer timeout and Retry.
5. In the Connection point 2 tab, enter the JMS parameters, including the name of the queue you created in Messaging for exchanges with Integrator.
6. Check, save and close the object.
