Creating a remote partner

About partners

A partner object defines the characteristics of an end partner of a message exchange. In the following procedure, we create an object to represent the remote partner who will exchange messages with Gateway.

Prerequisites

Before you create the remote partner, make sure you have imported and activated the Gateway partner management package for PassPort.

Procedure

1. Open a session in the PassPort user interface.
2. Go to Partners > Manage partners.
3. On the toolbar, click the New partner icon.
4. PassPort opens the 'Create partner' screen.
4. Complete the fields:
   • Name: Enter a unique name for the partner. For this example we enter Partner_remote.
   • Description: Optionally, enter a textual description of the partner to describe the intended use.
   • Location: Select Remote.
5. Click Finish .
