Importing the CSD file to PassPort

About CSDs

Component Security Descriptor (CSD) files are XML files that define resources, user privileges and user roles for each Axway product (component) that integrates with PassPort for identity and access management. Importing a CSD file adds the product to PassPort, enabling PassPort to perform identity and access management for that product.

The CSD file is delivered with the Axway product in <product install directory>\extras\PassPort

The file name has the format: csd_<product name>.xml. The file needs to be accessible from the machine where you are working in PassPort.

Exception for Axway Transfer CFT: The file csd_Transfer_CFT.xml is in [TransferCFT installation directory]/distrib/am.

Procedure

1. From the PassPort UI, select Administration > Import CSD.
2. Click the Import CSD icon.
3. Use the browse window to navigate to the file to import.
4. Select the file and click Open.
5. PassPort imports the file.

After you import the CSD

After importing a CSD file you can:

• Optionally add a instance to represent the product (component) in PassPort
• When you import the CSD, PassPort automatically creates a first instance of the product.
• View details about instances of the product
• View details about resources for the product
• Click Edit information to change component instance details
• Change a component instance status (active or inactive)
• Delete a CSD file and its associated product
