Starting Composer

Prerequisites

Using the Axway Installer:
- Install Axway Database (or alternatively, install a third-party database)
- Install Axway Composer and any required Enablers
For details about installing Axway Composer and Composer Enabler, refer to the Axway 5 Suite Installation and Prerequisites Guide.
Start the database.

Starting the Composer server

UNIX

Navigate to the directory:
<Composer install directory>/composer
Execute the script:
startSynchronyComposerServer.cmd &

Windows (non-service mode)

Do one of the following:

Execute the script:
startSynchronyComposerServer.cmd
From the Windows Start menu, select Programs > Axway Software > Synchrony Axway > Composer VX.X.X > Start Composer Server

Windows service mode

During installation you can choose to run Axway Composer as a Windows service. This causes the server to start and stop with the machine on which it is installed.

To start the Composer server with Windows already running:

From the Windows Start menu, select Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Windows displays the Services window.
Scroll down the Services list and right-click the Composer service.
From the context menu, select Start.
