Starting Axway Database

Prerequisite

Install Axway Database using the Axway Installer.
For installation details, refer to the Axway 5 Suite Installation and Prerequisites Guide.
Optionally, check if Axway Database is already running.

Starting the database

Windows

From the directory <Axway Database install directory>/scripts, execute:

dbstart.bat

Windows service mode

During Axway Database installation, you can choose to run the database as a Windows service. This causes the database server to start and stop with the machine on which it is installed.

For details of how to install Axway Database as a Windows service, refer to the Axway 5 Suite Installation and Prerequisites Guide.

To start the database with Windows already running:

From the desktop, open the Windows Services manager and select:
SynchronyDatabase_start
From a DOS prompt, run:
net start SynchronyDatabase

UNIX console mode

From the directory <Axway Database install directory>/scripts, open the shell prompt and run:

./dbstart

UNIX background processes

Open the shell prompt in the <Axway Database install directory>/scripts directory and run:

./dbstart &
