Starting Axway Transfer CFT

Prerequisites

  1. Install Axway Transfer CFT using the Axway Installer.
  2. For details about Transfer CFT installation, refer to the Axway 5 Suite Installation and Prerequisites Guide.
  3. Check if Transfer CFT is already running.
  4. View procedure

Starting Transfer CFT

UNIX

  1. The first time you start Transfer CFT, go to <Transfer CFT install directory>/runtime/] and run the script:
  2. . ./profile
  3. In the same session, enter the command:
  4. cftstart

Windows (non service mode)

Do one of the following:

Use the Windows menu

From the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > Axway Software > Synchrony Axway > Transfer_CFT > CFT administrative Mode > CFT Server CFT

Use the command console

  1. The first time you start Transfer CFT, go to <Transfer CFT install directory>\runtime\] and run the script:
  2. profile.bat
  3. In the same DOS session, enter the command:
  4. cftstart

Windows service mode

During installation you can choose to run Transfer CFT as a Windows service. This causes the server to start and stop with the machine on which it is installed. When running Transfer CFT as a Windows service, the only visual clues of the server status outside of the user interface are the application log files and the services area of the Windows computer management window.

To start Transfer CFT with Windows already running:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, select Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
  2. Windows displays the Services window.
  3. Scroll down the Services list and right-click the Transfer CFT service.
  4. From the context menu, select Start.
  5. Check the file <Transfer CFT install directory>/runtime/log/cft.log for error messages.
