Upgrading Axway products
About product upgrades
The definition of an upgrade is to replace a software program with a more recently released, enhanced version.
Upgrades manage changes in the 2nd or 3rd digit in the version of a product: from x.y.0 to x.y.1 or x.y.5 to x.y+1.0. Upgrades generally address the product binaries.
Important information before upgrading
- You must upgrade Axway Installer before you can upgrade any product
- You do not need to be up-to-date with service packs
- You cannot go from x.y.0 to x.y.3 with one upgrade pack (UP). You must install UP1, then UP2, and finally UP3
- Service packs are not taken into account by the upgrade mechanism, only the base version of the product
- You can upgrade products one at a time, but we recommend upgrading them all at the same time
- There is one upgrade pack for each minor release
