Precautions when changing the IME Admin password
This article was previously published as ID#30719
Summary:
For security, you may wish to change the Admin password every so often, or after personnel changes.
Take note that any custom extensions and any MMS server(s) Redirecting to IME will need to be updated with the new password as well, or they may lock out the Admin account with failed login attempts.
Detailed Information:
Specific steps on changing the Admin password on the IME server are in section 7.2 of the IME 5.5 Admin Guide.
Additional steps to take:
If MMS is redirecting to your IME server, in MMS Admin, go to Setup/Redirects, enter the new Admin password and Save. This will require a restart of the MMS Secure Redirect & MMS Secure Response services.
If you are running any custom extensions to IME, the extension may have the Admin password stored in a config file (i.e. psoconfig.ini). Update the password in the config file and restart the extension.
