Error creating-accepting SPN domain record
This article was previously published as ID#29360
Symptom:
When attempting to accept an SPN request (or response), MMS produces an error:
Error creating the SPN domain record for: 'domain.com'
Detailed Information:
When you accept an SPN request or response, MMS tries to create a record for the domain (i.e. domain.com) in the External folder.
If another record already exists where the name and domain are both set to "domain.com", MMS will update the existing record.
If another record already exists where the Name field is set to something other than "domain.com" but the Email Domain is "domain.com", MMS will throw this error.
example:
Name: Tumbleweed Communications
Email Domain: tumbleweed.com
Resolution:
Go to the External folder (directory \all\external) and bring up the domain record for the SPN domain. Change the name so that it matches the domain name exactly.
example:
Name: tumbleweed.com
Email Domain: tumbleweed.com
