MailGate sends welcome emails to distribution groups' email addresses. How to prevent it?

MailGate treats distribution groups' email addresses as regular email addresses and by default will send a welcome email to those addresses the first time an email message is received for them.

To prevent MailGate from sending welcome emails to these addresses, follow the steps below:

1. Create a new group in LDAP and add all distribution groups as members to that new group. 2. Create a new MailGate group based on your new LDAP group:   Administration > Groups > New Group > Browse your LDAP source > Select only the newly created LDAP group
3. Go to the Activation tab and disable "Send welcome message" option.
