* ultraedit

use the open source macro that can be downloaded here http://www.ultraedit.com/files/wf/msgbuilder.uew

then use the ultraedit tutorial http://www.ultraedit.com/support/tutorials_power_tips/ultraedit/add_or_remove_file_extensions.html to add your file extension

* notepad++

use C# (C sharp) syntax highlight in Notepad++

it can be set to automatically recognise the MB file extensions as C# in Settings à Style Configurator.

then use it for s4, s4m, s4h and mc extensions

* editplus

Download the attached Message Builder syntax files zip and unzip them into the Editplus folder.

Then add Message Builder in the Editplus preference
