If you need to re-configure the RAID on a 6710  or 5710 model appliances, please follow the instructions below.

VERY IMPORTANT: This procedure will delete ALL data from the appliance. You MUST have a backup of all data stored on the machine prior to applying this procedure.

1. Back up all the data externally;

2. Reboot the unit to go to the Perc6i BIOS to reconfigure it to RAID_10:

Press <Ctrl><R> when below screen appears in the boot console.

On the right it shows the size of the hard drive which should be more than 800GB.

Press the F2 function key, to start RAID operations. Move the cursor to the Delete VD and hit the Enter Key to remove the current RAID configuration; Answer Yes to confirm the intend of deleting the VD.

Press the F2 key to start a new RAID 10 configuration when the following screen appears.

Select the options as shown in below screen as RAID level 10. Use the space bar to select all 6 drives and click the OK box to confirm the selection.

Press the F2 key and select the fast RAID initialization as shown below.

The RAID configuration is completed once the initialization is done. Hit the ESC key to exit and reboot.

3. Use the Axway rescue iso to image the unit;

4. Restore the backup data.
