KB Article #173847

copilot access denied after server reboot, message "wrong password" - Copilot start as a Windows service

Problem

--Copilot access denied after server reboot, message "wrong password"

--When Copilot service is started from Console with the same account, connection to Copilot is successful.

--Same user is used to start CFT and Copilot and to logon to the UI.

--Domain user account type, with membership to local administrator group

-services start OK for both Copilot and CFT but Copilot connection fails with message wrong password.

Resolution

--Steps below need to be performed:

Set logon as a service

  • Double-click on ‘Log on as a service’.
  • In a dos command window, type secpol.msc to open the Local Security Policy window.
  • Select Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment.
  • Add the user.

Logging on the Copilot server

If copilot.misc.createprocessasuser=yes in UCONF (CFT 2.5, 2.6 and higher) or Createprocessasuser=yes in [MISC] section of copconf.ini (CFT 2.4), the user who launched the GUI server must already have the items listed here to allow other users to log on. Those users must be in the system users list.

  • Adjust memory quotas for a process
  • Impersonate a client after authentication (Windows 2008 only)
  • Replace a process level token

RESTART COPILOT SERVICE

TEST CONNECTION AGAIN=>OK
