Problem
--Sending an EBCDIC file that includes packet and signed fields formatResolution
--Sending files containing signed Numeric fields to a non EBCDIC Platform is not supported
--Packet fields and signed numeric fields are specifc to IBM platforms and cannot be sent directly to a Windows or a UNIX platform.
Symbol / character is integrated inside the numeric value itself, it is user responsability to extract the value or symbol from the fields by a user program before being up to send such a file.
Sending such files to the ASCII world without reworking the content to ensure signed and packet fields are no longer presents is no sense.
