Policystudio error contacting process

Problem

Policy Studio is unable to connect to the remote Gateway. The URL, username and password are correct because if the password is changed "Invalid credentials" is returned.

When clicking finish a deployment dashboard tab is created with a red cross through it. Trying to open the configuration with a double-click returns a box with "Error contacting process" "Process should be running before configuration editing can take place"

Resolution

The problem occurs when the "conf/pdEntities.xml" or the "conf/pdEntities.md5" is incorrect for the instance being run. Make sure to bring these 2 files with the "conf/fed" if a configuration is being copied into another environment.
