Problem
Starting with VA 5.1 SP1, what SACID do I enter for wildcard
licenses?
Resolution
This article pertains to the application of wildcard license files for Validation Authority. A wildcard license is one in which the license is valid for any IP address. Temporary license files are included in this. Starting with VA 5.1 SP1, to apply a wild card license, you will be prompted to enter a SAC. In the case of temporary license files, the file name will look something like “VA Responder Temp [SAC 76689].txt”. That is to say, the SAC value (a 5-digit number) is embedded in the file name itself. This is the SAC you enter for the box “Enter SAC ID” (see image below). This only applies for temporary licenses. If you have a permanent wildcard license it will have your organizations SAC embedded in its name. In this case you must enter your organizations SAC ID number.
