Application Blocked by Java Security: Composer Code Signing certificate expires on December 10, 2020

Problem

Composer Code Signing certificate expires on December 10th 2020.

Depending on you the Java security policy deployed on your workstation it is possible that you may not be able to launch Composer client.

Reason

If in the security setting of the JRE on you workstation you have disabled the following option "Allow user to grant permission to signed content" your security settings have blocked an application signed with an expired or not-yet-valid certificate from running

Resolution

Temporary solution:

We don't advise to check the option "Allow user to grant permission to signed content" in your JRE setting as it could be a global policy of your security department.

We recommend you to use the Exception Site List of the java client (Java Control Panel), and to add the Composer base URL:

Examples:

- if you are using RMI protocol: http://<Composer_hostname>:8081/

- if you are using the HTTPS protocol: https://<Composer_hostname>:4001

Permanent solution:

Install Enabler last Service pack for each enabler you are using. This service pack will be generated between January and February 2021, for all version of enabler that are still supported.
