How to configure the application to expect asynchronous receipts (MDNs) from a trading partner.

Problem

How to configure the application to expect asynchronous receipts (MDNs) from a trading partner.

Resolution

The sender of the message determines whether the receipt (MDN) is to be returned synchronously or asynchronously. By default, the application is configured to expect synchronous MDN's from your trading partners.

To configure Interchange to allow asynchronous MDNs from a specific trading partner, please follow these instructions:

- Login to the application
- Open your Community
- Click the 'Collaboration settings' icon
- Look on the left side of the page for the partner's name and click its link

If there is not a link for the partner, click the 'Specialize collaboration settings for a partner' link and follow these instructions.

- Click the 'Pick a partner' button
- Click the 'Partner' link
- Click the partner's link
- Click 'Add' to add a link on the left for the partner

Now you are able to create a partner specific collaboration setting.

- Click the partner's link on the left
- Check the box next to 'Set sending rules for the AS2 message protocol
- Scroll down and check the 'Request receipts to be sent over an asynchronous connection'
- Save changes
