Sentinel heartbeat error - WARN TM Sentinel Heartbeat Universal Agent sent message of type HEARTBEAT and got error code -17

Problem

-- Following warning message is received in the logs for Secure Transport:



WARN TM Sentinel Heartbeat Universal Agent sent message of type HEARTBEAT and got error code -17


Resolution


This indicates a connectivity issue between SecureTransport and Sentinel. Check the following:


1. In the SecureTransport Admin UI, under Setup > Axway Sentinel, verify that the host and port entries for the Sentinel server are correct.



2. On the Sentinel server, verify that Sentinel is in fact running and listening on the specified host and port.



3. Perform a telnet from the SecureTransport server to the Sentinel server, using the specified host and port number, to see if there are any network connectivity issues:
