Creating a local partner and security entity for AS2 exchanges

About partners

A partner object defines the characteristics of an end partner of a message exchange. In the following procedure, we create an object to represent the local partner (Gateway), and associate a security Entity.

Prerequisites

Before you create the local partner, make sure you have imported and activated the Gateway partner management package for PassPort.

Procedure

1. Open a session in the PassPort user interface.
2. Go to Partners > Manage partners.
3. On the toolbar, click the New partner icon.
4. PassPort opens the 'Create partner' screen.
4. Complete the fields:
   • Name: Enter a unique name for the partner. For this example we enter Partner_local.
   • Description: Optionally, enter a textual description of the partner to describe the intended use.
   • Location: Select Local.
   • When you select local for "Location" the Entity field is activated.
   • Entity: Select Gateway.
   • This is the security entity you created in a previous procedure.
5. Click Finish .
