LDIF file sample
LDIF file sample
Summary:
Importing from an LDIF file is very similar to importing from an LDAP server. The LDIF file must contain certain specific fields, or the import will fail. Most notably, the dn, sn, cn, mail, and objectclass field must all be present.
Symptom:
Sample LDIF record:
dn: uid=mrbill
cn: Mr. Bill
sn: Bill
givenname: Mister
objectclass: person
mail: mr.bill@tumbleweed.com
alias: mbill@tumbleweed.com
alias1: mr_bill@tumbleweed.com
alias2: billm@tumbleweed.com
Detailed Information:
The required fields are:
dn: uid=mrbill
cn: Mr. Bill
sn: Bill
objectclass: person
mail: mr.bill@tumbleweed.com
EMF will only import objects with objectclass=person (other object classes will be ignored).
Additional Info:
Optionally, to import the Delivery Address, you can add the field "maildelivery" to the LDIF file:
dn: uid=mrbill
cn: Mr. Bill
sn: Bill
givenname: Mister
objectclass: person
mail: mr.bill@tumbleweed.com
maildelivery: mr.bill@internal.tumbleweed.com
