IIS Lockdown tool broke Web Administration (how to recover)

Summary:

If the IIS Lockdown tool is applied with the remove scripts directory option, the EMF Web Administration will cease to work.

Resolution:

Run the IIS Lockdown tool again and reverse all changes. Then run it yet again, this time deselecting the remove scripts directory option. For more specifics see related article IIS Lockdown tool 2.1 and MMS 5.x on the right.

Use Add/Remove programs to uninstall EMF -- this will not affect the database or configuration at all, it will only remove the services installed on the host with Web Admin.

Reinstall EMF (selecting the "connect to an existing database" option), and the installer will recreate the object(s) that were deleted by the IIS Lockdown tool.
