Detailed Information:

Check your address lists to see if any of them:

1. are empty
2. contain spaces in any address
3. contain any non alpha-numeric characters, especially wildcards

Resolution:

1. EMF 5.x and later does not support empty address lists. If you had an empty list in the previous EMF version, you may see this error after upgrading. Add at least 1 placeholder entry to each list.

2. Addresses with spaces are invalid. Remove those addresses or edit them to remove/replace the space character.

3. Some characters, especially wildcards (*), may have been saved incorrectly to the database. Try readding them using the ADVANCED ADD import feature.

4. Also make sure if using ADVANCED ADD import that the text import file is saved in UTF-8 format before the import. Windows Notepad has a UTF-8 encoding option in its Save As operation.

Additional Info:

If you are not sure which address list is triggering the error, try disabling policies that use address lists one at a time until the error disappears. When it does disappear, check to see which address list the last disabled policy uses and edit/correct that list.

If you cannot spot the error or invalid characters in your address list, try the following:

1. disable the policy that uses this list
2. export the entire list to a text file
3. remove all addresses from the list
4. using ADVANCED ADD, re-add all entries by importing the text file
5. re-enable the policy that uses this list
