VA - Information on Manually Importing CRL's

Q: I can import a 15mb CRL but the 30mb CRL will not import, what can I do?
A: This issue is most likely related to your Connection Time out and Max Send Time settings in the VA UI.

To resolve this issue try increasing your values.

  • Connection Time out setting is how long the VA will wait for the initial connection when attempting to send or receive CRLs or OCSP Databases.
    • Default Connection Time out setting is 20 seconds.
    • Increase to 40 Seconds.
  • Max Send Time setting is how long the VA will keep open an active File transfer.
    • Default Max Send Time setting is 5 minutes.
    • Increase to 10 minutes for large CRLs.

To adjust your Connection Time out and Max Send Time settings, follow these steps:

  1. Login to VA Admin UI
  2. Click Server Settings tab
    1. Click General Settings link
      1. Under VA Responder Settings enter new Connection Time (in seconds, minutes, hours, days)
      2. Under Client Restrictions Settings section enter new Max Send Time (in seconds, minutes, hours or days)
    2. Click Submit Configuration Parameters
  3. Click the Restart Link
    1. Click Stop Server
    2. Click Start Server
  4. Finished!
