Email Volume Summary Report is all greyed out
On Dashboard the "Mail Stats - Last 24 Hours" report shows grey pie charts. The same is visible under Monitor > Report Center > Reports > Email Volume Summary Report.
Under the same report page, "Messages by Status" section shows a tall "Unfiltered" column. Mail flows through the box, but all messages under Tracking > Messages appear as "Unclassified".
MailGate is licensed for both Edge Defense and Policy Manager.
Resolution
The above behavior is observed when "Bypass Policy Engine" option is enabled under Mail Policies > All policies > Settings. This is the reason for the "Unclassified" status of all messages - they are not scanned by any of the policies, including the Anti-Spam policy and for the "Unfiltered" column in Messages by Status section of the Email Volume Summary Report.
In order to have the report populated and still bypass all policies, disable "Bypass Policy Engine" option and also disable ALL policies (both incoming and outgoing).
If this is done and the Email Volume Summary Report becomes all purple (as per Graphs' key) the processed messages would be considered "Unclassified" and not "Unfiltered". Then, under "Messages by Status" section messages will appear under the "Passed" column.
