Configure email notifications in SecureClient for Windows
Problem
How to configure email notifications in SecureClient?
Resolution
SecureClient can be configured to send notifications both on successful delivery and on transfer failure.
The notifications are enabled on a site basis. Under a site's configuration 'Notification' tab, you can enable notifications on 'Success' and on 'Error'. Once you have either 'Success' or 'Error' checkbox enabled, you can configure From, To, CC and BCC email addresses.
Modification of the notification subject and body is also possible. Notification templates are located in the \notify directory under the SecureClient installation (usually C:\Program Files\Axway\SecureClient on 32-bit systems, and C:\Program Files (x86)\Axway\SecureClient on 64-bit ones). If you edit the notification templates, please make sure to not alter the xml structure, and to edit only the text between <subject>text</subject> and <body>text</body>.
Next step is to configure the email server to which the notifications are sent. This is done under Main menu -> Tools -> Preferences -> Email Notification. In the 'Host' field specify the fully qualified domain name of the mail server (e.g., mail.domain.com) or its IP address. To get this information, you may need to contact your email server administrator. You will also need to check if the mail server accepts connections on port 25 (SMTP protocol) from your local machine.
