Problem

• Unable to configure HTTP proxy server on Mailgate with Proxy Authentication.
• The Error message is:

                     Unable to contact the HTTP proxy server.
                     Please verify your configuration and try again.

Resolution

Mailgate supports only BASIC Proxy Authentication and does not yet support NTLM or Negotiate. Therefore, make sure that the HTTP proxy server is configured for Basic Authentication.
