BOM CVS2SVN migration templates
Problem
AXWAY documentation CVS TO SVN MIGRATION GUIDE / Business Object Modeler Version 2.6 describes the migration procedure for migration of BOM CVS to SVN by the use of tool cvs2svn.
The two templates bomcvs2svn-with-global-resources.options / bomcvs2svn-without-global-resources.options should be used therefore for the cvs2svn call. These 2 files could nowhere be found.
Resolution
Provieded the 2 BOM CVS2SVN migration tool templates :
bomcvs2svn-with-global-resources.options
bomcvs2svn-without-global-resources.options

Using the tool cvs2snv
Like already mentioned before, cvs2svn is a tool used to convert CVS repositories into SVN repositories.
This tool may called directly on the command line and requires a fairly amount of parameters for the conversion. A few functions provided by the tool are only usable in conjunction with an options file. The BOM CVS conversion requires such functions and therefore the use of the options file is mandatory. This file will be provided separately in a pre-configured manner and is named bomcvs2svn-with-global-resources.options or bomcvs2svn-without-global-resources.options. Besides encoding settings and further options the rules for converting the folder structure are already pre-configured as well.
Which options file you should choose, depends on whether your CVS repository contains global resources or not. If you are not absolute certain, please have a look into the global folder of the CVS repository (actis/bom/global). Should your global folder not contain any resources you can use the file bomcvs2svn-without-global-resources.options template which ignores the empty global resources folder.
The following paragraphs will explain the few options which have to be adapted manually and are required to do a successful CVS to SVN conversion.
There are three relevant parameter blocks (in Python syntax) – please take care about the formatting of the options file (please just change path names and leave the rest of the file untouched).
