Use case requiring 250,000 records

Is there specific limit in the possible CFT catalog size on iSeries?

Resolution

There is no side effect known for large CFT catalog other than the overall performances (in the same way it can affect CFT on others OS). Nothing specific to the iSeries then.

So, if the system resources permit (disk capacity and cpu), you can move to 250 000 records if there is a use case for that.

Note:

• You should pay attention to the updat parameters from the CFTCAT macro, a too low value is not recommended when using large catalog file.
• The WSCAN, used to re-trigger transfers when needed, should not be too low as well, a value of 5 is recommended for such a catalog size.
