Adding existing objects to the Diagram
Adding new objects to the Diagram
The TopographyDiagram comprises a set of elements common to all graphical tools (Diagram and Atlas tabs) in the Axway Composer product.
Refer to Working with graphical tools for details on the following common elements:

When you delete an object from the Diagram, Composer only deletes the object from the Diagram: it does not delete the object from the repository unless the object is a new object that is not yet saved in the repository. |

To position existing objects on the Diagram, drag-and-drop the object from the left pane or from the Entity Browser to the Diagram. When you drag-and-drop existing objects onto the Diagram, Composer automatically adds its child objects, as described in the following table.

One of the principal purposes of the TopographyDiagram is to link Host objects to a CommNetwork. If you drag-and-drop a CommNetwork that is used by one of the Hosts on the Diagram, Composer automatically creates a link between the CommNetwork and the Host.
If you have not yet defined any of the metadata objects that you want to include in the TopographyDiagram, you can only use the Diagram as a design tool where you sketch an outline of the Topography. Although you can position empty objects on the Diagram, those objects have no meaning until you define and link them via a valid CommNetwork.
Via the TopographyDiagram, you can add a CommNetwork to a Host definition by creating a link between the two objects on the Diagram.
