To import an EDIFACT format description into BOM you should follow these steps:

·         Download the appropriate EDIFACT Directory from the internet, e.g. from
http://www.unece.org/tradewelcome/areas-of-work/un-centre-for-trade-facilitation-and-e-business-uncefact/outputs/standards/unedifact/directories/download.html
and save the "zip"-file somewhere on your disc

·         Unzip this file, unzip the included sub-zip-files into the same directory

·         Create a BOM project if you don't have an existing one where you want to import the format description to

·         Right click on the forms subdirectory of the BOM project … then “Convert …” (not “Import”!)

·         In the wizard choose “UN/EDIFACT descriptions” and the appropriate message type by browsing/clicking the “source folder” (selection from the unzipped folder)

·         Click “Next” button

·         Choose “tf-mapping”

·         Click “finish”

In case you’ll find more than the expected *.fde file in your forms-directory just refresh the view.

BOM contains a very detailed help functionality where you find almost everything needed for BOM handling and mappings.

For your question you might search for “import EDIFACT” and then click on “Import/Export interfaces” and follow what you will find on the right window side.
